Surviving Christmas

Guys, we know you have trouble Christmas shopping for your wife. She knows, too. Being a wife, I figured I might lend you a helping hand...


Most men attend a number of parties with their wives throughout the year. They may attend birthday parties for nieces and nephews, engagement parties for cousins or friends and housewarming parties for friends.

They also likely arrive at most of these occasions bearing gifts, however, in most cases it is the wife who does the gift shopping. Many women enjoy shopping and do not mind always tackling this task. However, these women don't shop for their own gifts at Christmas.


For all you fellas out there - here are a few simple ideas:


A scrapbook is a great idea for a Christmas gift for your wife especially if she is always complaining about never having time to organize the family photos. This idea may scare some of you...

Fortunately, there are many individuals in the business of making scrapbooks. All the husband has to do is round up several photos and sit down with the scrap-booking consultant to discuss what type of book he is looking for and his wife’s favorite colors and preferences.

With this information the consultant can create a lovely scrapbook from the pictures the husband provides.


There are also quite a number of pre-packaged kits available. These generally come with everything your wife would need to create her own scrap-book.

Having all the materials at hand might give her the inspiration to get the work done - and she won't need to spend a ton of time, what with having everything she needs right at hand!


A spa gift certificate is another excellent idea for men who find Christmas shopping to be difficult.

Most women enjoy being pampered and receiving treatments such as manicures, pedicures, facials, massages and other rejuvenating treatments.

Even if you are not sure where she would like to go specifically, you can purchase a gift certificate from a service which works in conjunction with a number of spas around the country.

Remember guys - ASKING IS OK!!! And frankly - whenever I catch Dear Hubby checking out sizes in my closet or dresser I am flattered - but - be discreet...
